I also like the taste of hungarian dishes thar remind me of childhood and my grandparents...the smell of barackpálinka, the hungarian music that can invigorate me and at the next moment it can make me cry...

i love hungarian people.

What about Keleti station at midnight? Do you love that? Very much like what Kings Cross in London used to be like.

But i am quite partial to the Castle district. Many fine sights an, an abundance of leather jerkins can be purchased not to say many a merkin.
What is it with the Russian doll thing though?

I am orginally from London, and I cant agree with you more about the above Station, Budapest surpassed all my expectations as a capital, and since I am an Ex European Tour Guide it reminded me of all the Capitals rolled into one.
Armed with two boys(11 and 12) I flew into the capital for 6 days only and managed to find and purchase a gem of an apartment. We will be back Easter and Summer, to use the trams and trolleys and not have to worry about parking is great.Anyone know of any good second hand shops please e-mail with directions(markets too)

Thanks

PostSubject: It's special atmosphere along the Danube River!   Mon 8 Sep 13:28

Just strolling along the Danube River on the opposite bank of the Paliament Building, simply........a pleasure! Smile

I love the different moods of the river, the colour of the sky makes it look different each time it changes.

I also love the bridges......from Chain Bridge, Elizabeth Bridge, to Freedom Bridge! cheers
