Hi, I know hardly anything about Budapest . . . but i have still decided to relocate there.

I am currently living in Thailand where i am the deputy editor of a fairly big magazine. I write features, columns etc, have also done loads of copy writing, editing, ama published fiction writer . . . and have worked as an ESL teacher in a few countries.

Before i come to Budapest i'd really appreciate it if someone could give me an idea of the place, social life, going out, work opportunities etc. Just a general idea. I edit a forum for our web site and i know that the best information comes from people who live there and not advertising on the net.

Do you have English language publications? Magazines? Internet sites?

Work for writers, journalists, editors?

If i have to, i'll teach while looking for writing work, are there opportunities for teaching ESL? Schools, universities?

General payment for foreigners? Comfortable standard of living?

Foreign community?

Learning Hungarian?
