I see we have a lot of new members too, to all.

Does anybody fancy getting together next week or after next week? Any preferences concerning the day and the place? Tuesdays and Thursdays are not very good for me.

What about Vista? They usually have a lot of space so we wouldn't have to book and it is ususally quiet enough to chat as people haven't met up for a while. They sometimes have the piano playing too.

I check this forum every now and then just to keep up with things. I can’t join you all for a night on the town yet. But you can count on me in February when I’m in Budapest

So we finally made it. The budapest forumactif members reunion evening. There may only have been five of us, but we partied the night away....well ok, we had a meal and a chat and caught up on old times and left at 11.00, but we could have partied the night away if we had wanted!!!
There were four regulars, myself, Randi, Alice and TJ and it was good to meet with newbie Mark .
We talked about Hungarian politics, riots, new jobs (congrats to Alice and me on our new jobs). We talked about the heathen practices of Denmark and how Great Britain is almost entirely responsible for global warming every November 5th when we celebrate Guy Fawkes attempt to blow up parliament. We also discussed swimming in the morning (rather you than me!) and the labyrinth over at the castle. We must go sometime when they have a torchlight tour.
Also...did you know they sometimes serve melange coffee with honey in the bottom? Coffee and honey...it is a strange taste. (ps...I suggest if Alice ever comes to visit you and asks for a melange, leave out the honey!!)
All in all we had a very good evening and hopefully we won't leave it quite so long before we do it again.

Guess what happened. Vista sent me their excuses together with a 2000 Ft voucher.

What happened is that I ordered a melange (coffee with milk) and failed to observe in the menu that it was served with honey. Since I can't eat any honey I tried to ask for another one. I knew I was the careless one and it was entirely my fault still I wasn't too pleased when the waiter pointed this out. This I happened to express by asking for the customer's book and writing an exhaustive complaint (although some accused me of having written my complete biography - it is not true, I skipped the first 10 years).

As for Vista Café I was really impressed by how they handled my complaint. I am a very self-conscious customer having contributed to many customer books and I must say that I have never experienced such an attentive and generous manner of dealing with a complaint in Hungary.
