sunny

Welcome to Budapest forum. We would love to learn a little about you, tell us what brought you here, why are you interested in Budapest or Hungary, and anything else that you would like to share with us. You can post here to introduce yourself to the community (just continue this thread or open a new one).

I'll go ahead...

As a child I used to live in London, and looking back now it I must admit that an amazingly high percent of all my childhood memories are related to England. It's probably due to the difference between Hungarian and British education but those few years had a stronger influence on me than all the rest I spent in Hungary. However, since I grew up I only went back very occasionally and never stayed for long.

I often considered moving back to London but I think I am starting to realise that my Wonderland is Budapest. Not to mention that now I even have a Wonderman to bind me to Budapest. Wink I was often annoyed here by unfriendly shopkeepers, rude car drivers, the impossible amount of bureaucracy, and so on. Yet, having lived in many countries and many places, I have to admit that for me, Budapest is far the most beautiful city and Hungarians can be a real pleasure to be around. Very Happy

You might be planning to visit Hungary, you might be preparing to move here temporarily or even permanently, you might already have arrived, you might always have been living here, or you might already have left. You might be Hungarian or you might be non-Hungarian, (you might even be wanting to become Hungarian). In all cases this forum was created to help you, to help each other, get along in Hungary, discover Hungary, to share your experience about Hungary, to discuss any concerns you might have about Hungary but also to be able to keep in touch with others like you, who are in some way related to Hungary.

I look forward to meeting you.

Alice
Very Happy

ps: I think London is not really a pleasent city to live in, well certain areas are, but anyway this isn't the subject of this forum..

sunny Hello and welcome moreno,

It's a pleasure to meet other Budapest fans too. Maybe we should start a Budapest fan-club Wink Although, from a financial point of view, a Budapest church would be much more beneficial... I heard that the Jedi community is now an officially existing church because during the last census so many people have declared themselves to be of the Jedi religion. Razz Neat, isn稚 it? Nice to see that people have a sense of humour.

HM, I think that would be a wonderful idea. I know that there is a French community in Budapest who meet regularly (every second Tuesday if I'm not wrong) we could organise something similar for English speaking people. I hardly ever get a chance to speak English, and even then it's mostly with German or Japanese clients. Laughing

o_O, Outer Space must be a big change compared to Budapest. Wink
So how are you doing over there in the States? I've never been there but I wouldn't be too willing to give up Budapest...
