Transport in Budapest Budapest public transporthttp://www.bkv.hu/angol/home/index.html(Budapest public transport is still cheap compared to other capitals of the EU.)
TaxiTaxis can be real tourist traps, if you want to be on the safe side call one of the big taxi companies. Taxis can be called from anywhere, they will normally arrive in less than 5 minutes and will charge you according to their rates.
Most of the taxis have fixed prices for transport between the airport and Budapest (depending on whether it’s the Pest or Buda side of the Danube). You’ll find a lot of taxis at the airport, however they might want to charge you more than the average rate, so consider calling a taxi from a well know company (they usually have parking areas near the airport so you won’t need to wait for long).
Airport transfer ("Reptéri transzfer" in Hungarian) should be around
4.000 HUF for Pest side
4.500 HUF for Buda side
(The airport is on the Pest side.)
