I would recommend you stay in district 5,6, (and central 7 or 13).
Close to lots of bars, restaurants, shopping… (Probably not so interested in that last one Laughing )

Have fun welcome

I would recommend the same to you as I did to the people I wrote to earlier today:

If you want a good and decent central hotel in Budapest I would suggest the Hotel Mercure City Center... located in the main shopping street, close to the Danube and local transportation. (four stars).

If you want something a little bit cheaper, but still in the center I would recommend Hotel Erzsebet or Hotel City Pilvax. They are both in the center, decent three star hotels.

If you want something cheaper you can check out Kings Hotel or something with less stars, but if you stay for only three days, make sure that you do not have to waste much time on transportation and lots of walking!

PostSubject: cheap hostel to stay at   Sun 31 Aug 20:39

I’ve just arrived home from Budapest, we spent 4 days there with my boyfriend, and a couple of friends. Well, we had a very good time there:D We stayed here: http://uk.video.yahoo.com/watch/3049615/8703000 This hotel is called Easy Hotel, and it is very cheap, only 15 €/nights for two of us, and the rooms were clean and comfortable so don’t think it’s a lousy accomodation to stay at!. We didn’t spent much money, because the food was also cheap. This hotel i think is quite well-placed, it’s near the Western Train station:)

If you have any questions feel free to ask
cheers

For young people it's best to stay in district 5 near Kalvin ter, where most cafés and pubs are (Raday utca) and the tourist areas are also close (e.g. Vaci utca). The other good choice is district 6 near Oktogon, where one of the most important amusement area is located (Liszt Ferenc ter) and public transport is great (trams 4, 6 and underground nr 1.).
I list two apartments for both locations:
Apartment near Kalvin ter
Apartment near Oktogon
